Open day at Michell Instruments’ global headquarters
Michell Instruments has announced an open day at its international headquarters in Lancaster Way Business Park, Ely, on September 13th to give local residents the chance to find out what the company can offer them as an employer.
While the CBI recently released gloomy figures showing that many manufacturers expect job losses in the next few months, Michell is bucking the trend by looking to expand its operations in Ely to meet increased demand for their products from overseas.
Michell is one of the global market leaders for moisture and humidity sensing equipment. They manufacture most of the instruments at their site in Ely and also have offices in Holland, Germany, France, USA, Italy, Japan and China.
‘It’s an exciting time to join Michell,’ says CEO Mike Bannister, ‘Our recent growth means that there are plenty of opportunities for staff to develop their careers – and themselves – within the company. Having many colleagues abroad also makes it an interesting and dynamic place to work.’
As well as members of Michell staff, there will be representatives from the West Anglia Training Association to answer questions about apprenticeships. Information on higher education and professional development will be on hand from Anglia Ruskin University.
